Maths Week Rima

This week for maths we have had to find a range of objects that have lines of symmetry.  Well done Tamariki, there have been lots of objects found and made that have lines of symmetry.  

 We also had to do some double adding to work out how many leaves would be on our Art work.  Look at the big numbers that Izabella and Layla have had to add.

On The Farm Shearing

Whiz Groups

Today was 'Whiz Group' day once again. Here is some of the learning our friends chose to do.

Art Hub Stories

As it was such a hit last time  the Te Kakano teachers decided to let the tamariki give it another go. We asked you to go to 'Art Hub for Kids, learn to draw a new picture and then write about it.

Ka Pai E Hoa Ma!

We even had Alex's sister Ava join him for the activity. She is learning how to draw pictures and tell stories like her big brother. Alex must be a great learning role model.

Garden Competition

Just a reminder about the Te Kakano Garden Challenge that has been on The Dannevirke South School Website. 

Mr. Snell is providing some awesome prizes. Caitlin is very excited to receive your entries to see what you have been growing. 

If you haven't had a chance to plant a garden you could find a spot in your garden and create a little world.

Week 5

Gratitude

The last task for Week 4 was to think of all the things in life that you are grateful for.  This links well to our Kiva programme that we do on a Friday. We asked that you korero about the things you are grateful for and present it in a tree.

Making Music

Today we asked our friends to be creative with music. We wanted to see what instruments you could come up with,  using only things you could find in your home. There were definitely some creative performances!

Toy Story

Our friends were asked to pick out their favourite toy at home. We wanted you to think of an adventure that your toy could go on and write about it. We wanted you to make sure you included lots of detail.
